Wednesday - Peter Rabbit Watercolor
Supplies Needed: a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and any medium to add color (pencils, markers, crayons, oil pastels, paints, etc.) I especially love watercolors for this project. If you don't have a set handy, you can make your own by putting dried out markers in a cup of water, or by adding food coloring to water. You can even paint these browns with coffee or tea! Try it!!
Enjoy the Storyline Online production of The Tale of Peter Rabbit.
Then, go to Deep Space Sparkle's Patty Palmer's tutorial and
learn how to draw Peter Rabbit. Paint your drawing, and share
by emailing me or posting on social media #smyrnaartrocks

Thursday - Leaf Bunnies
Supplies Needed: a blank piece of paper, leaves, flower petals, pine cones, acorns, sticks, etc.

K-5 Watch Leaf Man read aloud. Go for a walk with your grownup and gather nature materials: leaves, pine cones, acorns, sticks... Now, create your own!
Friday - Clay!
Supplies Needed: Clay (modeling, sculpting, polymer, or home created)
Home Created Recipe: Mix 1 cup Flour & 1 cup salt. Slowly add 1 Tbsp. oil, and 3/4 cup water. Kneed well.
Sculpt a statue out of clay. There are many recipes of homemade clay on the internet. I tested the one above. It's quick and easy to make, holds its shape when molded, and air dries in a week. Save unused clay in a zip-lock bag. When dry, you can paint it with watercolor, tempera, acrylic, or oil based paint. You may bake it at 250 for 30 minutes. (If a piece falls off, reattach with glue.) Take a picture and email it to me OR post on Social Media with #cobbartrocks #smyrnaartrocks @smyrna_elem
K-5 Pinch pot (See last week's tutorial - just scroll down.), Coil Built (Start with a ball of clay and roll it out into a long skinny rope, tuck one end under and start rolling it up like a cinnamon roll), or slab built. What can you make out of it? Here's a video tutorial. Try one of these bunnies - or create your own design. Have fun!
